But in those early days, when the buzz around the Sussexes was infectious, the likes of Harry's father Charles were reportedly panicked by the amount of media attention they had gained.
Author Nigel Cawthorne claimed that despite Charles walking Meghan down the aisle, he wasn't her biggest fan, as she had a strong, no-nonsense personality that he suggested upset other members of the Royal Family.
He said: "There's only room for one strong royal woman, the Queen.
"I think [Prince Charles] likes strong women, but in The Firm there is only room for one Queen...I think he foresaw considerable problems ahead."
Mr Cawthorne also said the buzz generated by the Sussexes was similar to that of Prince Andrew and Ms Ferguson, affectionately known as Fergie, when they married in 1986.
He described both couples as "amplifying the popularity of the Royal Family".
It is unclear which members of the Royal Family appeared threatened by the hype produced by the Sussexes, but reports have recently emerged of clashes with the likes of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Speculation of a major fallout between the Cambridges and the Sussexes have rocked the Firm, and in recent months tensions are said to be deeper than ever, as a result of allegations made in 'Finding Freedom'.

He explained: "They're quite happy now to see them out of the country.
"That's one of the reasons people close to the scene doubt whether there'll be a reconciliation because you know it's the old syndrome - this town is too small for both of us."
He added to Entertainment Weekly: "So, first of all, it's called the battle of brothers, and you say that this feud between William and Harry is worse than people thought.
"I think every day makes it clear that it's worse."
Fellow author Katie Nicholl also waded into the debate over the brothers' rift, arguing that William was "quite concerned that the relationship moved so quickly".
She told documentary Princesses at War that Kate also discussed this fear with Harry.
Ms Nicholl added: "He was dating someone with a completely different life, past, and career, and it would take time, care, and attention for them to integrate."
